HOW MUCH DIOPTER DO YOU NEED?
Diopter values are based on the metric scale. A +1 diopter will result in 1 meter focus at your lens’ infinity focus setting. If you want to know the new infinity focus in feet, then you will need to convert from 1 meter to 3.3 feet. You’ll also want to work out your new minimum focus distance.

I've gone through many variable ND systems throughout my career and I've always tried not to use them due to color shifting and strange artifacts. When I discovered the Revar Cine Variable ND system, I opted to buy the Kit B since I own matte boxes with a rotatable 138mm stage. The glass of the Revar Cine filters is of such high quality that I can't tell any difference in the images shot with the Revar and without the Revar filters, even when using the extreme light reducing capabilities of the system. When you hold the filters in your had you just can feel its made with the most premium glass. I'm so happy with the quality of the Revar Cine system that I'm using it on nearly every one of my jobs. Its one of the best investments I've ever made.

This rota pola is unique in its quality and functionality. The glass is great, and the tray includes a standard gear which works for fingers or motors.
Been using the Revar Cine for some time now and can't say enough good things about the build. The construction quality of the tray is one that will hold up on professional sets for years and the glass does it exactly what it should, with NO (noticeable) color-shift. Couldn't recommend it more.
I do the majority of my work in Tourism and outside. Having a variable ND is par for course. When I saw this set up I knew it would be a perfect solution for my matte box, no more screwing on filters, step up and step down rings. Just slide it in a you're ready to go!
I wish I would have bought this sooner. For a while I was using a screw on Rota Pola, then upgraded to a different 4x5.65 tray Rota Pola. It worked - but was just ok. It worked but it cooled the image overall. I've switched from that one to this Revar Cine Rota Pola and its so much better! It has a much better throw for polarization and the dual wheels are nice. Don't settle for a budget friendly version. This is worth it!
In my unending quest of learning new techniques of being a filmmaker, I was reminded on how valuable a polarizer can be! As I pointed the camera to the sky with Tokina's Cine 11-20, the sky came out sexy as fuck! The blues contrasted with the clouds were unreal looking! With BT's Pola+ matte box, it was easy to move the pola to get the glowing blue colors I wanted.
Another thing I learned is that having this pola helps with darker skin tones. As I was filming the people in the Philippines without it, the image look flat or too dark. So when the pola was in, the skin tones felt much more prettier, colors were life, and looked natural. Even with the sun's reflection bouncing off their skin!
When you're using cinema lenses and filming run and gun, the last thing you wanna be doing is switching out filters. So combining this Pola with a Linear Pola gives you variable ND! You get best of both worlds as well as having an cinematic image!
