138mm Diopter: Get Closer
Built To Last
High quality anodized aluminum ring with scratch resistant coatings.
We use high quality Schott BK7 glass that has an index similar to your lens elements. Manufactured to the highest tolerances, this glass will exceed performance of other diopters.
We designed coatings that more closely match the spectral transmission requirements of modern sensors.
Extra Large Filter
138mm filter allows for use of wide angle lenses for maximum compatibility
HOW MUCH DIOPTER DO YOU NEED?
Diopter values are based on the metric scale. A +1 diopter will result in 1 meter focus at your lens’ infinity focus setting. If you want to know the new infinity focus in feet, then you will need to convert from 1 meter to 3.3 feet. You’ll also want to work out your new minimum focus distance.
It is all a bit complicated, so we recommend you use the diopter calculator from our friends at CineSaga.

We offer our Close Up Diopters in multiple densities to fine tune your close focus. +0.25 to +2 is our standard range allowing for incremental close focus adjustment.
Compatible with industry standard holders including the Bright Tangerine ONE Tray and Arri 138mm rear filter holders.
138mm Close Up Diopter
It does add a nice golden glow. Lifts the shadows a half stop and adds a pleasant softness to skin. Not overpowering!
I've gone through many variable ND systems throughout my career and I've always tried not to use them due to color shifting and strange artifacts. When I discovered the Revar Cine Variable ND system, I opted to buy the Kit B since I own matte boxes with a rotatable 138mm stage. The glass of the Revar Cine filters is of such high quality that I can't tell any difference in the images shot with the Revar and without the Revar filters, even when using the extreme light reducing capabilities of the system. When you hold the filters in your had you just can feel its made with the most premium glass. I'm so happy with the quality of the Revar Cine system that I'm using it on nearly every one of my jobs. Its one of the best investments I've ever made.
Well constructed and high quality glass! The Rita tray works perfectly and gearing is perfect for small changes.
I had trouble finding the right part and they were really fast on answering my questions. So glad to finally have my rota pola up and running
SO FAR SO GREAT. ALL I CAN SAY IS BUY!
Works really well with a motor or a finger.
This rota pola is unique in its quality and functionality. The glass is great, and the tray includes a standard gear which works for fingers or motors.
Been using the Revar Cine for some time now and can't say enough good things about the build. The construction quality of the tray is one that will hold up on professional sets for years and the glass does it exactly what it should, with NO (noticeable) color-shift. Couldn't recommend it more.
I do the majority of my work in Tourism and outside. Having a variable ND is par for course. When I saw this set up I knew it would be a perfect solution for my matte box, no more screwing on filters, step up and step down rings. Just slide it in a you're ready to go!
I wish I would have bought this sooner. For a while I was using a screw on Rota Pola, then upgraded to a different 4x5.65 tray Rota Pola. It worked - but was just ok. It worked but it cooled the image overall. I've switched from that one to this Revar Cine Rota Pola and its so much better! It has a much better throw for polarization and the dual wheels are nice. Don't settle for a budget friendly version. This is worth it!
In my unending quest of learning new techniques of being a filmmaker, I was reminded on how valuable a polarizer can be! As I pointed the camera to the sky with Tokina's Cine 11-20, the sky came out sexy as fuck! The blues contrasted with the clouds were unreal looking! With BT's Pola+ matte box, it was easy to move the pola to get the glowing blue colors I wanted.
Another thing I learned is that having this pola helps with darker skin tones. As I was filming the people in the Philippines without it, the image look flat or too dark. So when the pola was in, the skin tones felt much more prettier, colors were life, and looked natural. Even with the sun's reflection bouncing off their skin!
When you're using cinema lenses and filming run and gun, the last thing you wanna be doing is switching out filters. So combining this Pola with a Linear Pola gives you variable ND! You get best of both worlds as well as having an cinematic image!
I never used to have a Circular Polarizer in my kit. Now that I’ve added the Revar Cine Rota Pola to my kit, I honestly don’t know how I had gone so long without one.
Solid build, flawless glass. It’s a tool every DP should have in their bag.
Revar Cine really hit the nail on the head with this one, and Ryan Avery has been one of the most helpful people I‘ve come into contact with in the industry.
If you want to improve your work & efficiency, all while receiving top notch customer service, the Revar Cine Rota Pola is the tool to use, and Revar Cine is the company for you.
I had recently finished a feature film shoot that was primarily outdoors in the harsh Nevada sunlight, it was of great comfort knowing that I was able to free up the filter trays for ND's and other filtration, with the use of this Rota Pola tray.
The construction and the materials are of the highest quality, it was able to withstand some harsh conditions and perform flawlessly.
Ryan and his team had developed a good piece of filmmaking gear, and there customer service is top-notch! The Revar Cine Rota Pola is an essential piece of gear for all filmmakers.
Over the last few years I have grown attached to the Revar Cine Pola and what it can do for my shoots. I can't remember a job in the last 4 years that I have not used it. Its essential gear that can improve almost any shot you use it on to control reflections and in some cases improve color contrast.
Matched in a matte box with a Linear Pola and you get an extremely high quality Vari-ND system that covers a huge amount of the stops needed for ND with modern Cinema Cameras.
Customer service is fantastic and Ryan is one of the most helpful people in the industry for a whole host of solutions, information and helpful opinions when it comes to optics and filtration.
I can't say enough about the need for a good rota-pola in any camera package and this is as good or better than any other option out there and I have used more than a few.
I love my Revar Cine Rita Tray Polarizer. Pristine quality, easy to use, and great optics. I always have it in my kit, and it’s saved me on a shoot plenty of times.
This product truly is the industry standard, and owning one has made it very easy to seamlessly incorporate my personal kit with those externally rented for other cameras.
Above all else, it’s allowed me to think about one less thing when shooting, and I can just focus on the image and telling the story. No longer are the days where I have to waste time double and triple checking that the mattebox I'm using will be able to rotate the polarizer, or that the polarizer is of good quality. This has it all. I never leave home without it.
